We all face challenges in our life. Climbing can be a valuable tool for helping us learn to face challenges, and develop mechanisms to work through the adversity we are faced with. Above the knee amputee Ronnie Dickson will talk about his process of assessing and overcoming challenges and how these lessons have empowered him both on and off the wall.
Ronnie Dickson had his leg amputated above the knee at age 17. At age 19 Ronnie discovered climbing and this gave him passion and purpose in his life. Ronnie was the first above the knee amputee to climb V10, a four time national champion, and two time world silver medalist. Ronnie was a founding member of Adaptive Climbing Group, an organization that runs adaptive climbing programs out of New York City, Boston, and Chicago. Ronnie is also a founding member of USA Paraclimbing, and the founder of the Adaptive Climber's Festival. Ronnie loves living an outdoor lifestyle with his wife and two dogs in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
