About Us

First Outdoor Company is a Black and woman-owned climbing & adventure business. Our mission is to create safe and sustainable climbing experiences elevating Black athletes, creatives and entrepreneurs. Our signature and annual event is the Blk Out Fest, a climbing festival held every fall in Chattanooga, TN.

MY Story

My name is Tiffany Blount and I am the founder and CEO of First Outdoor Company and the Blk Out Fest. I am an outdoor rock climbing advocate and educator born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri currently based on the east coast near New York City.

Tiffany (she/her) is a media educator with over 15 years experience in program and curriculum development. She has worked as an outdoor advocate since 2019 volunteering with organizations such as Brown Girls Climb and Kinship Climbing Collective and is on the board of Rise Outside and the Torne Valley Climbers’ Coalition.

Myhana (pronounced like 'Briana', but with an 'M' - she/her) is an experienced philanthropy professional who is passionate about enabling anyone and everyone to get outside-- especially Womxn and BIPOC folx.
